  • Step-by-step

Using the FMM More than a Bird House Cutter make the barn. Cut out 2 of panels each of numbers 1 & 4 in red modelling paste. Cut out 2 panels number 3 in brown modelling paste that has already been embossed using wood grain impression mat from set 1. Leave to one side to dry for 24hours.

Cut out the FMM Tractor & Cart in red modelling paste. Cut 1 large tractor wheel & 3 small tractor wheels in black modelling paste. Cut out 1 large circle & 3 small circles in yellow modelling paste. Sit to one side to firm.

Using the FMM Cute Farm Animal Tappit cut out a cow & a sheep in white modelling paste & a pig in pink modelling paste. Using the FMM Cute Farm Animal again cut out the sections of the animal you would like in the different colours. For example the cows markings in black, sheep face in pink & pigs nose in deeper pink. Please see photograph of cake and sit to one side to firm. If preferred the animals can painted but you would need to wait until the modelling paste is dry.

Cut out 5 white FMM Fluffy Clouds of your choice & 2 cloud shape 4 in green modelling paste (to make tree tops). Sit to one side to firm.

Make 2 tree trunks as shown in picture using the brown modelling paste. Add a wood grain effect with the FMM Impression Mat set 1.

Using the FMM Essential Shapes Tappit cut a large rectangle & large circle in brown modelling paste already embossed with the wood grain impression mat from set 1. Sit to one side to firm.

Using the FMM Essential Shapes Tappit cut out 25 of the second largest triangle in 5 different colours for bunting. Sit to one side to firm.

Again using your Using the FMM Essential Shapes Tappit cut out the largest yellow circle twice. One will be used to make a sun. Using the FMM Knife & Scriber tool cut the second one in half again & again until you have 8 sections to make sun rays, see picture of cake.Sit to one side to firm.

Cut out medium & large blossoms using the FMM Blossom set of 3 & FMM Ejector/Plunger. Sit to one side to firm.

Roll out green modelling paste in strips & cut out the strip that resembles a grass edge to go all the way round the base of each tier. Use water or edible glue to attach.

Roll out brown modelling paste, emboss it using the wood grain impression mat from set 1. Cut out thin strips of paste using the FMM Multi Ribbon cutter to make a gate & some broken fence. Sit to one side to firm.

Using the picture of the cake as a guide, start from the centre of the cake begin to attach all the decorations you have made in steps 1-11 using water or edible glue. Build the gate first, then attach the cow to the left & the pig to the right. Build a small section of broken fence to the right of the pig. Add small detail that look like nail marks on the fence with the FMM Knife & Scriber tool. Attach one of the trees to the right hand side of the cow.

Attach the sun in the sky & attach the clouds. Draw small flicks on the cake with your edible pen to symbolise birds in the sky.

Attach the tractor, cart & wheels to the right hand side of the cake & the sheep to the left hand side of the cake. Attach the tree to the left hand side of the sheep.

Measure around the outside of the bottom tier of the cake & divide by 5. Place a cocktail stick a small way in the cake all the way round the top. Wet a small area above each cocktail stick with water.

Knead a small amount of white fondant & place in the craft Gun. Extrude the fondant from the gun through the disc. Drape the white fondant string over the cocktail sticks, allowing it to loop between to make the string for bunting.

Attach the small triangles below the string. 5 different colours for each section.

Cut out a piece of green fondant in a splodge shape approximately 5” wide for the barn to sit on & attach flat on the top tier of the cake.

Build the red barn once it is completely dry. Following assembly instructions on the back of FMM More than a Bird House packet. Attach the barn door & window. Edge the window with white fondant extruded through the craft gun. Cut out thin strips of white fondant with the FMM Knife & Scriber tool. Attach around the barn door & make a X shape across the barn door.

Finish decorating the cake with flower blossoms. Place a sugar ball in the centre of each flower.
